Our Legacy
Jupiter Marine’s legacy is built on the vision and craftsmanship of Carl Herndon, whose influence helped define modern offshore boatbuilding. He also founded Blackfin Yachts in the early 1970s, establishing a reputation for performance and quality that would carry throughout his career.
When Carl took the helm of Jupiter Marine in the late 1990s, he brought decades of experience and an uncompromising standard of excellence. Working closely with skilled craftsmen, he refined every detail and elevated what a center console could be. That philosophy remains at the core of Jupiter today.
Following his passing in December 2023, Carl was honored posthumously with the 2025 Marine Industry Lifetime Achievement Award by the NMMA. His legacy lives on in every Jupiter built and in the commitment to quality that defines the brand.
